Where's the volume

Here is a chart of the $NYTV, NYSE total volume.  There has been a significant decline in the total volume traded recentally.  Yesterday's volume was almost equivalent to holiday trading volume.  The lowest amount of volume on this chart either half-days of trading or days before a holiday.  Yesterday's volume was only a few points from hitting some of these lows. 

 The chart is also showing during this latest run to the new highs it has been lacked by strong volume.  Volume should confirm price and right now it is not confirming this run up to these new highs.  It will be important to see when the market breaks out of it's range if volume follows.
